Chapter One
Lovable Lucy
Lucy was ten years old. She was an adorable child. She had many friends.
One day in writing class Mrs. Goldman asked the students to write about anything that was on their mind. Lucy wrote about her aunt Carrie. She hadn’t seen her in a long time, and she missed her so much. She lived in Connecticut. Her mother told her that she was too busy to see them.
She wondered if there was more to the story.
After school she went to her friend Lori’s house. She couldn’t wait for her mother to take her home. She was very tired.
Her mom came earlier than expected. When she got home, she wanted to nap. Her mom kept feeling her head. It wasn’t like her not to want to go on the computer.
She let her rest and called her when it was time for dinner. She didn’t want to eat. Her mom told her to eat a little. She listened but ran to the bathroom to throw up. Now her mom knew that she had to take her to the doctor….
